Hey all,

I posted the same question in the vine forum, but wondering if I can get more local advice. I'm in Pittsburgh, interested in planting vines on fences right next to my house. Any suggestions for something that won't look bad in winter?

- Honeysuckle, possibly dropmore?

- Gelsimium sempervirens 'Margarita'?

- Clematis? Anyone have success with Armandii staying evergreen?

- Rose? Someone said this would be possible too much upkeep? I don't mind gardening, and its a small space, but I also don't want to jump into a huge upkeep commitment.

The ground is primarily clay. I'm in a valley, so we get a decent amount of moisture, and I wouldn't mind a plant that would help wick some of that up. However, I've done a lot of work slopping the ground around my house, adding plastic lining covered in rock, and running the water to a drain and sump pit that I built. In other words, it not a swamp by any means. These conditions sound great for Honeysuckle, but I don't want it to look likes weeds growing on my fence either (HS is not always pretty).
