Magenta evergreen rhodies are fairly common, but I will mostly let others make suggestions for your zone. I do like PJM Checkmate which looks like regular PJM but hasn't exceeded 3 1/2' in my garden in something like 10 years, even though the regular PJMs are much taller. Nice reddish winter foliage.

Orange is more common for deciduous azaleas (which are botanically still Rhododendrons), but I would still keep them in mind since the color can be lovely and they often have nice fall foliage.

A more general suggestion is to visit local arboretums, botanic gardens or demo gardens to see which you like. You could also check with the local chapter of the American Rhododendron Society. There is a link on the page where you can find your regional chapter. My chapter has recommendations for various states.

Whoaaaaa! There goes my garden budget.....

I really like rhodies for their flowers and their evergreen presence in the garden. They have been one of my favorites since I was a kid growing up near a Rhododendron breeder's nursery.

Not sure where the post went with the information about Rhododendrons direct. Lots of good information on there.
