I like the azalea flowered snaps so I don;t grow anything else. I do stake the taller varieties. They have a more open flower than regular snaps. Madam Butterfly is 28 inches. Little darling and the Twiny series are smaller 12 inch plants with the same open flower.

Animation snaps are supposed to have sturdy stems and are about 36 inches tall but i've never grown them.

You may have a hard time buying the plants you want and it's rather late ti be starting them from seed this year. Snapdragons take a long time to germinate and grow to the size that they will flower. I start the smaller ones in March and the tall variety in Febuary

msp, as Zen suggests, looking through online seed and/plant catalogs would be an excellent way to see if you can find the snaps you saw yesterday. Every site has great pictures and descriptions from which you can get some ideas.

I also suggest that you have a conversation with the garden center owner or manager. You should be able find someone who can look into the purchasing records in order to locate the name of that snapdragon.

I should start growing snapdragons to fill the late winter-early spring void of fresh cut flowers. Let us know if you find what you're looking for.

I found some plants with a tag that read "tall snapdragons" so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Will check the different online seed catalogs tho, thanks!
