My first heuchera.

I never really cared about heucheras until I move in my current house about a year ago. I inherited what I believed are four heuchera “Obsidian” cultivars. I almost killed them on purpose until I found they bring color to my yard even in winter. Fast forward to today, I see them being sold at garden centers. So, I scored my first heuchera from a local nursery. The label says Mega Caramarel. I love its warm color. I’m still on the search for Georgia peach or southern comfort. The leaves on this thing are HUGE!

Yours is beautiful! I'm new to them also. I just purchased and planted my first three a couple weeks ago. I was going to get a like trio, but loved so many of the choices, I ended up with a Georgia Peach, Violet Frost, and Mahogany. They're all doing just great so far. My very favorite is Mahogany with its glossy thicker leaves.

Chris, the one I pictured above is Mahogany (just in case my comment was misleading). Here is my new Georgia Peach.

Oh wow! I love the marbling on the leaves of the Georgia Peach. I also liked Mahogany’s solid color. Now I can’t decide which one I liked better. Both very pretty plants!

Heuchera is a great plant to be new to, isn't it? I'm simply loving my 3 new additions to my garden. As a bonus, the pesky rabbits haven't touched them!

I went to a local nursery to pick up crushed marbles for mulch. I saw impressive sized tiramisu and marmalade. I resisted using it until I can figure out what I can and cannot do with it. I’ll get it next year if my mega caramel does well.

Very nice! Mega caramel is beautiful! Southern Comfort is next on my list. :)Another one with huge leaves.

Amazing color! Only 1 question: will he do ok next to pavement and rocks once Summer comes? I dont know your zone so not sure if hot Summers are a problem in your neck of the woods.

If you want large leaves, look for 'Brownies' - the leaves on it are twice the size of my other heucheras.

Hl_60 I’m in 6a. I do not have any shaded spots in my property and I can’t make up my mind where to put this. It’s planted in a large container so I can test it for very sunny conditions and move it somewhere else if I have to. So far so good.

Thierry Delabroye of France hybridized a bunch of great Heucheras from Villosa - Caramel, Brownies, Citronelle, Mocha, Pinot Gris, Triamisu, Pistache, and Beaujolais among them. I've had good success with his plants in my SE garden - not sure how they'll do in the Midwest, though.
