If I were you I would go with a wood look porcelain tile. I had wood floors in my kitchen, very high quality, and I babied them to death and within 4-5 years they were still a MESS. I have replaced them with the tile and they are great. No special treatment or cleaners required and they look more like real wood than laminate.

I would not use faux wood if the rest of your house has hardwood. I use a tile look, Duraceramic, real ceramic or LVP. Lot's of options out there.

I'd use a LVP that looks like stone, as Kathy mentions. You aren't going to get a good match with wood and something imitation. The LVP will be easy on the legs as you stand on the floor cooking/backing. Tile can be fatiguing for people. My sister put in a LVP product I believe is called Adura, and it looks like stone, had it grouted, and you can't tell its not stone.

why don't you use the same wood floor that's in the rest of the house? putting up fake wood look next to real wood seldom looks good.

why not a gray or black slate tile, or a nice porcelain?

You know, I think I agree with kathy and enduring's suggestion. I have seen the "tile look" It's displayed next to the wood options. Do you worry about grout discoloring? I'm going to do a little googling now. Thanks!
