Help with bathroom please!

We just bought a house. The sale happened quickly and the master bath had wall to wall carpet which I refused to live with for any amount of time. I should have tried but I just couldn’t. So I basically had to make a snap decision on tile. I was going to use Lowe’s Leonia Silver but went with MSI Classico Blanco instead. Right now my bathroom

feels so cold and uninviting. It’s a north facing room with one window.

I don‘t feel like I’m good at decorating and I’m a busy mom of a 10 month old so any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Obviously the brass will be replaced eventually, countertop changed and the cabinets painted but we’re on a budget of course. The rest of the house except for the bathroom is painted in BM Revere Pewter 50% lighter.

the tile is nice. find a nice picture for that wall, get some White enamel paint and do the vanity, be on the lookout for a remnant or a countertop w/undermount sink included (check craigslist. crazy deals on there)....also use the same white paint and do the wood cabinet or whatever that is behind the door. the warm oak tones don't really go well w/the cooler tone grayish tile.

some examples you could do (and work w/the gold if need be)

paint that large wall a dark accent color,,black, charcoal, white vanity, new hardware, new mirror and lights, pattern rug,,,will make a huge difference.

paint the ceiling

put some wood shelves over toilet to warm up the space

do wainscot of tile, or beadboard or even shiplap, in white, darker color above

that large wall you have is a perfect accent piece. do something like this on it and add a black/white canvas art piece.

Not a Pro.

A darker color on the walls would definitely warm it up. As soon as you add some decor, towels and a floor mat in front of the sink, it will all come together.

I agree about walking on a used carpet in the bathroom -- yuk! njmomma's right about adding the bath accessories. Good luck!!!

You have a nice neutral to build from. You need color. What color(s) do you have in your master bedroom. Accessorize with a color from your bedroom. It doesn't have to be the exact shade as your bedroom. You can go lighter or darker. You can incorporate towels, pictures, bath mat, etc in the color.

Without a doubt, accessories would go far in your perception of this room. As would paint. But to be honest, this room doesn't scream "uninviting/remodel me NOW" to me...it just needs a little time for you to live there.

Getting rid of the carpet ... excellent choice.

Northern exposure bath -- no sun coming in. That's a cold vibe in winter no matter how much heat you add to the room.

You might consider a gel mat in your favorite color to have a warmer floor when steeping out of the tub/shower in winter ... and you could choose a color that would visually add warmth to the room. Optionally, you could add a washable, absorbent, non-slip rug, alone or atop the gel mat.
