Typically the window boxes that I see match the window trim.

You have a lovely home. As stated above, I would go with the white window box to match your trim. A black window box would absorb the heat from the sun and the plants roots could get cooked, plus, you would need to water much more frequently as the soil would dry out a lot quicker.

Gorgeous house! I think black would be striking and would create a cohesive look with the front door and shutters. We live in Florida and I have done black window boxes with hot pink, purple, and white petunias and they were stunning against our gray house. Even on the hottest days I only had to water once a day, in the rainy season even less.

Please keep in mind black window boxes are a strong statement that will create a u shape around each window when combined with the shutters. The other thing is that all of your black elements are oriented vertically right now which is a very cohesive look. Do you want the focus to be on the boxes themselves or the plants in the boxes?

The white would read as an extension of the window trim.
