This morning I sent a half hour scanning stump removal techniques and did not find this method discussed.

I have seen stumps removed using barque charcoal briquette.

• Just start a small hole in the stump by dumping a few burning briquettes on it. The fire will fizzle out in about the same time it would take the charcoal to fizzle out in the grill. A small depression will result.

• Repeat.

• And repeat.

• Put some charcoal in the hole and repeat, and repeat.

• The stump will eventually burn from the inside out until it has just a few exterior scraps left that can be removed with hand tools.
