      The big guy is a riverside rescue, I named him Jolly Mon for our Great Dane who passed 2 years ago. There is also Rainforest Sunrise and So Sweet plus ferns and a Shasta daisy.

      They may look small now but these 3 fill every bit of mulch in this corner. Olive Bailey Langdon in back, by far my biggest Hosta. Lower left is Great Expectations, middle right is Time Tunnel.

      We both have our June and Liberties together! Great piece of twisted wood in that pic. ...If anyone can beat back catmint, it's Atlantis. All pretty! I enjoyed seeing your companion plants, too.

      Beautiful combinations! I really enjoyed this treat, thank you! My Sweet Kate (planted in front of house...so cheery looking) gets constantly eaten by the neighbourhood resident bunnies. I don't see it at all. :(.

      Yours is perfect - I will just have to get more!

      I think my TOC will also look good with this particular tradescantia - the slivers of gold in the leaves mirror the strappy leaves of Sweet Kate. Thanks for the inspiration!

      The last picture in the post, the hostas have already doubled in size since May 7. It’s a good spring this year, even if it did start late for us. Lots of rain and 70’s temps has all the plants looking top notch!

      Isn't spring wonderful? We were gone for a few days, and the growth was amazing. You have some beautiful combinations.


      Does your tradescantia behave itself? I planted some a few years ago. The gold version disappeared, but left dozens of plain green seedlings. I have to dig them up up every year.

      Madplanter, yes, Sweet Kate stays put. I have never had seedlings. Too bad as I would have welcomed a few to spread around!

      That's what I thought for two or three years. They had pretty purple flowers, and I just let them self seed until they tried to take over the garden. They're like dandelions, only harder to dig up.

      Glad to hear Sweet Kate doesn't have plans for world domination.
