but i have been known to curse underperformers.. while chucking them around the yard.. and eventually throwing them on the driveway ...

after which.. when replanted.. they fully understand who is charge ... and usually respond accordingly ...

so i suppose.. its the opposite of the article ...

Tough love indeed. Some of mine are still thinking about whether or not to emerge this year, perhaps I applied too much tough love :)

Interesting article. I'm a bit skeptical that the plants were treated equally, but a good lesson to teach, nonetheless.

I would like to be able to talk to my plants more openly and not thought to be crazy, lol. I don't bully any of them, but the roses get a few choice words because they insist on hurting me when I'm only trying to help them.

I try to bully the weeds, but they just turn the tables and laugh in my face.

Who's a good plant? Who is? You are!

its therapy without the exorbitant cost of a doctor... lol ... of course.. the way karin goes at it.. the doctor might be cheaper ... lol .. forgive me.. i speak from experience, of course ....

ken, the doctor definitely is cheaper, in Germany the insurance pays those things :-) but the hosta therapy is much better and worth the money...easy to forgive you, I know you've been there...
