If you plan to graft to them It won't mater to much if it is not 100% true

Thank you. At this point, they are only about a inch high. I would like to use at least one for grafting, ( I'm a little intimidated by grafting!), but would like to grow one simply because they look cool. They won't be planted in the ground, (although they can grow here). I'd like to bonsai the one that I keep. That is if they look like flying dragon.

redneckgirlgreenthumb: I am attempting to create a bonsai out of FD too. They are marvellous subject for it. Here is a close up of the twisty thorns and branches. They should get more contorted as they mature. They are slow growers. Mine is 3 yrs old. Where did you get the seeds? I ordered some on ebay a few weeks back and as usual none sprouted.

Siica- Mine are so small they don't have thorns yet. Lol! At least none that I can see.

Tropicofcancer-I ordered ten seed from a seller on Etsy. Of the ten, six rotted, two came up and are 1 inch tall, two are still thinking about coming up.

I had read that they were polyembryonic, but the two seed that germinated for me were not. Does that mean they are just regular trifloliata? Sorry I am so ignorant.

Your tree looks very nice too. Wait till it gets big. Our cemetery planted 3 FD trees. One looks like mine, one looks like yours and one looks confused. My seeds were sold to me as PT bonzai seeds hinting flying dragon. I was actually happy that they turned out to be just PT trees.
