Curb rescue -- what to do now?

Hello all, I picked these 2 pots up off the curb last fall (they were intended for trash pick-up). I've kept them in this north facing window up to now -- they were this leggy when I salvaged them. They've not been fed all winter. There were a few canes that broke which are now starting to put out new growth from the short stubs. Would you shorten the remaining tall canes to get fuller (and more attractive) growth, or just leave as is? I know not what type of begonia this is either -- the flowers remind me of wax begonias, but the leaves are what I think are called "angel wing".
