A plant that I love is never a lot cause until all its leaves turn brown and drop off. Some of my beloved plants seem to take on human characteristics, so maybe she was just missing you. As long as you have it in a well-draining soil, not overwatered, and getting some bright light, it should come back. I would use a weak mix of Foliage Pro with every watering. Don't give up yet. Just my thoughts. There are others with WAY more experience who will chime in.

I think it looks fine - just a little washed out from growing in strong sun. The leaves look fairly firm... maybe just a tiny bit of dehydration? Would you agree? Until it starts getting new growth, I wouldn't let it have any direct sun, just bright indirect light. And if you think it's more dehydrated than it appears in the photo, you could put it in a humidity dome or bag it. That helps it recover from dehydration.
