HELP - sizing undermount sink for bathroom

I am updating our basement bathroom. The current countertop is 69" long & 21 " deep. If I measure under the cabinet it is 19" deep. Overhang right now is 1 3/4".

We chose a quartzite and I'm being told the we have to choose a small sink because it can't be more than 10" deep (front to back) because they have to have 4" in front & 4" in back of the sink cut out.

It seems they are not taking the appropriate 2" for the overhang into account.

Is this correct? I just can't see having such a small sink...almost seems useless ;-/
