We are thinking of filling in the step down living room so it is at the same level as the dining room. Our contractor wants to frame The floor instead of pouring concrete. The house is on a concrete slab. We would install hardwoods over both rooms as they will be one room. We are worried about the different feeling of the two different sub floors. Thank you
