Oh Jody, they're beautiful!! I just love your San Antonio Rose!

Years ago I had a bulb of Misty and all it would do would grow leaves and it finally ended up in hippy heaven, yours is heavenly as is your double picotee!!!

My new Misty just started to grow leaves and I hope it will rebloom for me ane day and not meeting Donnas in Hippi heaven!

For me the blooming season is nearly over. I hope for some summer bloomes now...

Thanks everyone for your kind words :) Donna, Misty took awhile to get established, but has bloomed pretty reliably the last few years. Do you have San Antonio Rose?

Anja, my blooming season is coming to an end as well although I will get occasional flowering through the year, it is nothing like the spring.

This is Ladies Choice, named after our cat, two scapes with three flowers each.

Wow! What gorgeous diversity! All of them are beautiful! I agree with Anja that this is a beautiful non-single. I love the colors in these 4. So warm and rich!

I had San Antonio Rose that Kristi gave me many years ago and they all died. Now, I have some that Ray has given me and although they are alive, they are not flourishing. I think I'd have to buy a fully developed bulb to see any flowers before I die!!

I have this, purchaced from EBay but it's never bloomed even though the bulb is good size. I have it labeled as Voodoo or Naughty Lady; it's similar to SAR but I won't know if it never blooms will I??

This picture was from a Florida seller and I just couldn't resist. I did receive two decent size bulbs and they are healthy so I guess I'll just have to continue to wait!!! If they look like this picture, I'll be happy what ever its name is. I don't remember what the seller had it labeled as, might have been Naughty Lady but I can't remember.

Donna, my experience with SAR is that it likes to fill a pot wirh offsets before it blooms. I don't know if that's the same as being root bound. Also noted that it doesn't like to he disturbed. I could be connecting the wrong dots but that's what I've noticed. Maybe others will share their experiences. Jody

Ladies Choice is my favorite bloom out of the ones posted here! So pretty! The shape and veining is my definition of hippie beauty.

Donna, I think you can tell if your bulb is a SAR because the foliage will have a burgundy stripe on the mid rib on the backside. My SAR was rather expensive and was supposed to be "golf ball size", but it was actually smaller than a cherry! I'm hoping this summer it will bulk up!

Jody, I like your Ladies Choice very much too! Is it a cross you made? Who are the parents? It reminds me of Estella a bit, is it fragrant?

I was whining about my small San Antonio Rose, but I'll stop whining now that I see that it has an offset already, despite its small size. With any luck, a few years from now I may have a whole pot full of SARs!
