could it be planted higher in the pot ...

My Remember Me is in the ground here.. I’m way west of Chicago and experience the same wind. Sugar and Spice, Little Treasure, Cracker Crumbs and Wheee are all in pots here and have done spectacularly. Blue Mouse Ears and Dragon Tails are also doing well.

I'm wondering if the leaf damage in your first photo started with cold damage or perhaps rabbits. BTW, I’ve seen those critters standing on their back legs to get a nibble
