Dark cabinet for kitchen

My husband wants dark cabinets for our kitchen. I, of course, want the white on white Pinterest kitchen we have all seen. However, I am willing to give in on this since he is letting me do everything I want in our remodel. Sadly, this was the only thing on his wishlist.

I am having such a hard time finding inspirations online because we both absolutely want medium-dark (not too dark though!) hardwood floors throughout the whole house including kitchen. Most dark cabinet kitchens I've seen have very light color floors.

Please share photos of dark cabinet kitchens with dark flooring because at this point I'm not sure if this is even possible.

I would re-think the hardwood floors in the kitchen. They had just been installed in our current home (very high quality brand) when we purchased it and I was so careful with them and within five years they were a mess. I am now replacing them with wood look tile.

We were in the exact same situation last year with our kitchen remodel. We ended up with cherry cabinets with a chestnut stain. Our floors are red oak. We love how our kitchen turned out. I know it would not appeal to most people because it is very traditional but that is what we like. These pixs aren't very good with the lighting right now.

Do you have large windows? Choose a light counter top and a light back splash, add glass into your cabinet doors etc to reflect light. I worry about medium dark floors with dark cabinets...

My DH was the same way...but after going to kitchen show rooms and looking at kitchens at all friends recently renovated kitchens he came around... This may not happen with your DH. So lets think about the other details and then find more inspiration photos. What kind of door? Inset? Shaker? Slab Door? Recessed? Beaded? What style contemporary, coastal, traditional, rustic, industrial, farmhouse.... What colors do you like? What about counters, lighting, tile backsplash...

Right now, the windows & sliders have a very dark tint and are old so we are planning to replace these. Here is a picture of the new layout and examples of current lighting.
