Reccomendations that ignore state and climate are not very likely to be helpful, but sometimes results can be surprising. I am very fond of the small growing Cupcake, Ocean Lake, Brick Dust and Maricee. These have endured surprisingly cold temperatures with some snow cover for 3 to 5 years, including 2017-2018 with temperatures in the -10 range for days on end in December and January. Winter lows are only a part of the story, however. Summer heat in TN Z7 will be a real problem.

Yes, it can get very hot here. I have high shade from oaks and areas that I keep continually moist throughout summer. I'm willing to experiment and possibly accept a few losses. Thanks for those suggestions. I'm going to look them up.

Pretty different climate from yours but for yellows, I like 'Cream Crest', 'Patty Bee' and 'Shamrock' - the last blooms very early here, right around St. Patrick's Day!! 'Ginny Gee' is another nice dwarf, very floriferous with pale pink flowers.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have 2 Ginny Gees that are doing pretty well. Still very small yet. I'll check out the others.
