Very impressive! I'd wonder also what you are going to do with them all.....that's a passel of heuchs :-)

I'm planning a new bed to grow out Hosta and Heuchera seedlings. I'll keep the ones I like. I guess I'll have to find homes for some of them, though.

I would like to see heucheras planted en masse. That should be a sight.

It truly is!! I used to be the buyer and manager of the perennial department at a large local nursery and we did a display planting of heucheras in this enormous concrete saucer-shaped bowl - it was a good 4-5' in diameter. We filled it with a variety of different heuchera cultivars and in different foliage colors and it really was stunning and also stimulated sales like you wouldn't believe!! Until they contracted rust and we had to toss them all out.

I wish I had photos of it but that was maybe 12 years ago or longer..........

I’m glad I don’t have to worry about rust here. Didn’t realize rust took out heuchera. I don’t have any knowledge about gardening in warmer climates.

Rust can affect heucheras anywhere. It is one of the few problems (other than weevils or crown rot) that affects heucheras. Heuchera rust

That is some happy Purple Palace to produce such a mass of seedlings. I've never been able to keep that variety alive in my garden.

We've had an unusually wet period the last 3-4 weeks and I've had 3 of my green Heucheras develop some kind of fungal problem. I tought it might be powdery mildew - will have to investigate Heuchera Rust further. I ended up removing all of the leaves from the effected plants. They seem to be sending up new leaves now that so far don't look infected. Of course, I have so many seedlings that are similar to those that if I need to remove them, I will. The main concern is that it would spread to other, more desirable, plants.

The huge patch of heuchera started about 20 years ago. I guess I’m lucky here, so far I’ve had no disease problems with my heuchera. Some varieties I have get cut back in spring, some I don’t touch. They rarely get extra water.
