A big WOW, Guac Don!!! I think you have the most beautiful fragrants as they are perfect in every way. The leaves are pristine and beautifully formed, I still can't get over the size of them.

Happy looking hostas, each one of them as beautiful as the next yet so different. Regal Splendor is exquisite... more so because I am supposed to have one - somewhere! I still have a couple of pots to ID but if I lost it, I am definitely replacing it. Moonlight Sonata is so lovely.

Your On Stage is responding well, leaves are larger and fuller already. Way to go with the seedling as it looks strong.

Thanks, everyone. I'm glad you enjoy the pics of my garden. So far, so good in the garden this season. They started to come up so early this year, I keep forgetting that it's not even June, yet! Jo, I had more Guacamoles on the north side of my house, but I gave several to friends and neighbors. I added a tiny piece of Stained Glass you see at the top of the hill, and it's thriving, apparently. Lots of bright shade, lack of much direct sun, and the leaves on these are getting quite large. You may have noticed, there is a Frances Williams in the middle of that row of fragrant hostas. : ) In the fragrant bed, Fragrant Bouquet died, and I moved a sad little Austin Dickinson to another bed, in hopes that it'll benefit from the relocation. The 'plan' is to get several more hostas this season, enjoy the ones that are finally mature, and look into some non-hosta, sun-loving perennials to fill the very sunny bare spots in the backyard. (The gifts from Sunnywood were a nice, unexpected boost. Coincidentally, I was planning on getting some solid green hostas to separate the brighter, variegated ones in a couple of beds, and these op seedlings are perfect). Moving is still up in the air, but that won't really stop anything I'm planning to do with the yard, as far as plants go. This is where I live right now, and this is where I've been living/gardening for 13 years, so if moving to a new place happens, I'll consider it a new palette, and continue on there. As long as we live at this address, THIS is my gardening area. I'll still buy all the plants I want. If possible, I'll take a bunch of my hostas to a new property. Cheers! : )

don..I like the mindset of gardening where you live NOW..enjoying yourself, fresh air, exercise, adding beauty to the earth that hopefully someone coming in after you appreciates and keeps it going..IMO too many people don't seize the moment..

It is lovely to meet forum members living in our state/province - packs a nice hosta-punch to our lives, eh?

Don, I admire your outlook in terms of carrying on as if you are staying until the time comes. Many would not spend any more money, nor invest time in upkeep knowing they will be leaving in the near future. I have seen it and it is sad. Your outlook/philosophy speaks volumes about who you are and demonstrates that you are an individual with a generous soul and a kind heart.

I wonder what's up with FBouquet? Mine decided to also pack it in...almost - I am babying along one (1) tiny shoot that is hardly worth the effort. Might have had better chance planted but it wasn't.

We'll (most likely) stay in northern Colorado, Jo, and if that happens, you can bet I'd take a bunch of hostas with me : ) Popmama got a Guacamole and a piece of a Harpoon when she visited, and she gave me a lovely Dream Queen, which, I'm sorry to say, did not make it through the winter of 2016/17. I saw the hostas I gave her a few weeks ago when I visited and picked up the seedlings from Sunnywood. Guacamole was doing fantastic, it was 'pipping' with 17 of them showing.

Possibly my FB got voled, it looked very sparse rootwise when I dug it up; my vole hunter extraordinaire, Cujo, is a fairly ancient boy now. He still has the heart to catch 'em, just not the speed so much anymore. He's got some kidney issues, as is so common with old cats. Here he was last week at the vet, and not too pleased to be there. My constant gardening companion for the last 11 years. My sweet old buddy.

I’m looking after daughter’s kitty and he is 17 this year. Like Cujo, he is slower, and he can’t see or hear as well anymore but his instincts in the backyard aren’t all gone yet. Chased away a trespassing cat the other day...after a slight scrap between the two :-)

Never far from my lap.... I’m his security blankie, I guess. He likes it when I’m in the garden - he feeds off my contentment and happiness.

Everything looks really good! I see you don't have a problem with slugs or snails. They all look perfect! I really like Moonlight Sonata and Blue Hawaii...might have to get those lol.

Daylilies are great in the sun and very easy to grow. I am also obsessed with them and dahlias and cannas for the sunny areas. I always feel like I need more shade but then what about my sun plants? I love them too!

Loved those hostas and Christmas tree specifically with all those crinkles... Cujo looks like a great buddy to have. I too have an ole girly that takes care of the garden, thankfully she is still her mighty self although slower

Everything looks great Don, Blue Footed Booby is a great name for a hosta, I remember seeing a photo of that bird, it looks like it was designed by a committee lol. On Stage is a fabulous Hosta. I really like your Dress Blues too.

Poor Cujo, he looks totally cheesed off, I hope the vets can keep his kidneys going poor fella, how old is he? My oldest cat, she is now 15, was in the vets over last weekend as she was off her food and was dehydrated and she is very thin, she was on a drip and had bloods taken as we thought it was her kidneys too but thankfully it was not that. It turned out that she has a few bad teeth and was painful to eat poor girl, she had showed no signs of pain, they can hide things so well. she has been on a pain killer this week and we are trying to get her to eat properly before she has the extractions on thursday, Fingers crossed she will be ok after.

So glad you bumped this because I missed it the first time around. I'm happy to see so many of your hostas are doing so well. I'm glad you still have your Prairie Sky. Is it wrong that I covet your Moonlight Sonata? ;-)

We had this house up for sale one year and luckily didn't end up moving, but I lost a whole gardening season of planting when I really needed to be building up the yard. The next time it looked like we might move (DH's job) I kept on going like you're doing, and again we ended up staying. So you're looking at it the right way to keep on gardening there. And you can take the hostas or divisions if you do end up moving.

Cujo's face says it all. The vet is no fun. I hope he'll be able to hang in there a lot longer. We try our best to love and take care of them.

Denis, I hope your kitty will come through fine, also. I've had cats get their teeth cleaned and one needed an extraction. Getting the antibiotic pill afterwards was not his favorite thing, but he did end up feeling much better and was my longest living cat, lasting until just after 20!
