Rosie the Riveter rose blooming.

I planted Rosie the Riveter this spring without much of an idea of what to expect since she’s new. I walked out to the garden this morning and found her putting on a show!

I love how her colors are developing. Definitely my most visually impressive rose blooming at the moment.

Carla, I’d give Rosie some more time . She was stellar for me last summer , and we had record temperatures soaring to 110 degrees. All we have in Summer is heat and more heat, it’s even hot at night when you Californians get a bit of a respite (My Mom lives in Stockton, so I’m very familiar with your climate). She does lighten up a bit in summer, but still overall one of my most wonderfully colored roses.

It is exceeding my expectations as well! I will keep people posted on rebloom and disease resistance has the season progresses.

She's beautiful! I got her too, but the blooms she just put out look nothing like that. My plant died back to the bud union right after I planted her, and thankfully after I mulched her, she shot out new canes. I've had a ton of powdery mildew because of our unseasonably cold weather lately. The blooms were ruined by that, and of course due to the dieback shock factor. So I hope the wimpy pale apricot colored blooms I got are not due to her being the wrong rose! I guess I'll have to wait and see what the subsequent blooms are like. For now, I can enjoy yours!! Thanks for showing her!

Absolutely love my Rosie! a bit disappointed at the winter dieback, though. I had to cut her to the ground! Zone 6, although we had a zone 7 winter. Anyone else’s die back much more than expected? She’s sending out strong new growth already, but it was still a bit of a bummer.

My Rosie the Riveter looks nothing like that beautiful photo. I'm with Beth-- mine is a yellow, faded, blousy mess with a little bit of pink. I think it doesn't like heat. I was very disappointed all last summer after seeing the pretty pictures on the container. This year, I moved it out of the prime spot it had been in. Hopefully it likes the shade a bit better.

Waaaah, that's the color I was hoping for. None of my blooms last summer looked like that, and this first one didn't either, despite our temps being in the 70s. Maybe I got a sport :(
At least my Disneyland has those colors, even if it has no scent!
