HI ken, I don't know. I never payed attention to it. In fact I just noticed today the interesting foliage :-). Ken you said in an other posting from me I should have "taped" the Kimodo Dragon before planting in the pot. Can you tell me what that means and why I need to do that?

If you move a hosta (or repot one) after it's fully leafed out, it has a tendency to droop (look dehydrated). Once it droops, it will not pick back up in the current season. Taping it keeps it upright while it is getting accustomed to the new circumstances and will not usually droop.

You leave the tape on it until the tape gets ugly and/or starts to deteriorate.

It just keeps them looking better for the rest of the season.

I expect (and so does Ken) this is Fortunei Albopicta. It has a light center when it comes up in spring, but darkens to all-green by early June.
