So I brought home a sick succulent that had fungus gnats, even though this guy was in a separate room upstairs he still ended up getting fungus gnats so I unpotted it and cleaned the roots which took hourssssss because I watched literally ever YouTube video and it had so many tightly packed roots full of medium. After I cleaned it and trimmed the roots and finally found a new pot big enough I repoted it in fir bark, coconut husk and an orchid mix. He had a lot of root rot so I had to cut back quite a few and I accidentally broke off three of the new growths that were looking good before the pest issue. I used the "hi yield systemic insect granules" on all the plants in my house because I didn't realize how bad for the environment the systemic pesticides were. It did get rid of the fungus gnats in my house and all the plants are looking better now. Then I noticed that it seemed like the new pot was too big for it and there were a different kind of tiny little bugs crawling in the medium but at first I thought they were the beneficial mites eating the fungus gnats but since it still seemed like it wasn't happy I started to worry about root aphids so I got another smaller pot and cut extra holes around the sides for extra breathing and I repoted it again in fresh medium. Today it seems like several leaves have turned yellow and the base of it looks sad. I reallllllly love this dang plant so I need to make it happy again, I got it in February in full bloom and it seemed to be doing great until the pest issue. Is it normal for it to look like this or what do I need to do to fix it?! It hangs out by a south facing window and also gets sun from the west facing window in the evening. I only water it when the medium feels really dry since over watering was the root of my issues before. I live in Tempe Arizona and keep my ac on at around 80 degrees and theres a ceiling fan in the room. Anyyyy advice would be appreciated!
