Have you ever seen how dirty things that are left outdoors get? What is being depicted in this picture would need to be cleaned daily. No, thank you.

I have my grill and a big table for prep and a rolling cart and that is more than enough for me. No need for undercounter refrigerators, or sinks, just a big table for organizing things. I do not live on a massive estate- my regular kitchen with all its conveniences is just a few steps away ;-)

Why would you prep outside? I just spent a lot of money remodeling my kitchen so I don't plan to prep anywhere else! I do have a long outdoor granite counter with a double-burner unit and a cut out to roll a grill into. They are all covered in dust, pollen, etc. I only go out and give it a good scrub when I know we have people coming over.

A white counter like the one in the photo would be a chore to clean up. At least with my granite you won't notice if I missed a spot.

Also, a sink like that would be an open invitation for my DH to do gardening stuff in it, which would mean some rusty tool left behind to stain the sink and counter!

That type of photo falls under the old motto -- decorate for the life you have and not the life you wish you had!

What would you keep in those baskets? Besides spiders, I mean.

My husband needs table space for when he grills and smokes outside. I like the simplicity of this design. No outdoor refrigerator. No built in BBQ that will rust and need to be changed in a few years. No cheap faux brick that seems to be so popular with outdoor BBQ spaces.
