Do you know what it is? That may be a type that has small flowers.

Interesting I spent several evenings at the APS meeting talking about peonies with three gentlemen from Holland. One of the things they were looking for were shorter peonies with flowers in proportion to the size of the plants. I have to agree with them with people having smaller gardens or living in apartments where everything must be grown in pots there is/will be a great need for smaller peonies that are not just singles. They saw few that met their criteria other than a seedling that may have been damaged by herbicide use in an adjoining grassy strip. Breeders also have to start breeding back scent into peonies as many of the hybrids have little, none, or just stink of dead fish.

It has a sweet fragrance, for some reason I think it’s one of the old varieties.
