defining shade in words.. is near impossible ... e.g. my definition of dappled shade means there is dappled sunlight.. yet you say no direct sun ...

anyway.. how it all works in your garden.. is left to just trying.. imo ...

so shove it in .. and move it next year.. if you are not happy with its growth rate ...

one trick to trying to predict such.. is what is growing there now ... and how aggressive are those other plants ...

ps: you are correct in thinking about a plant with so much white ... being planted in too much shade .. as it inherently has less chlorophyll to process the ambient light ... but that said.. i come back full circle to what i said originally .... keep in mind.. things dont die for lack of enough sun .. they just dont thrive ... so you have plenty of time to experiment ...
