Thanks for your input. The seller said it's just shipping stress, but I highly doubt it since the spots are spreading and it's probably a bacterial infection. I will be trying harder to get a return set up since this plant wasn't cheap. Definitely a risk with online ordering, so I should follow your lead and order online less...even if there's a bunch of positive reviews around the seller on places like Instagram and I get sucked in, haha!

I have ordered online from different vendors and have had good luck. Did you get it as a cutting or planted in soil? If it still has leaves, I wouldn't give up hope, but keep it away from your other hoyas just in case. I have a kerri that I almost give up on. It lost all of its leaves except for one, but after being left alone, it is sprouting new growth. I do have it under a plant light. Sometimes just ignoring them for a little while is the ticket. A lot of my plants have scars and blemishes. Happens when you grow plants out in the elements. I wouldnt worry about it.

I am an avid collector of hoya obovata and that's not shipping damage. I'd recommend isolating from your other plants just to be safe.

Just curious how your obovata is doing. Any improvement?
