It does...but that doesn't mean the progeny require someone to go to the tree that the plant is growing on in nature, and separate and replant them...right?

It probably provides the babies with a source of nutrients. Again, don't worry about it from the stance of the offsets. Remove the central stems once it rots if you want.

Well I cut the dead flowerhead off and repotted it, and now it looks like one of the larger pups is putting out a flower!

you can still post but not directly from a thread. click on forum button on top 'bromeliads' in this case and then the line pops on top : start a discussion - that's where you click with a mouse.

then msg fields open up - it's more cumbersome for sure and after you click <next> some more nonsense appears, but eventually it'll post :(.

on some broms the original rosette dies within 6mo, on others it can keep much longer, even a year or more.

i usually remove it when it starts getting dry and looking ratty. but it won't do it right away.

Just use the box that says 'Start a discussion' at top. If you're using a current browser, it should work, or it does for most of us.

Are you using a current version of your browser software? PC/Mac/Mobile?

I use Chrome, but I haven't tried to post on my phone, I use my computer because typing and navigation is so much easier there.

Yes, it's a hot mess on my phone...I think I could get it to work, but it's an exercise in frustration.

i don't type in that 'start discussion box' i just mouse click on it and it throws a new screen with subject/message body where i can type. but i am on a computer using Chrome.

you actually need to leave the thread (discussion) to get to full forum listing (and that's where 'start discussion' appears.

what a bummer! i don't like their format in general and constant ads and redirections and pop-ups are so-o annoying! i just post much less and look less too. sigh. why ruin a good thing? unfortunately selling the site often works this way...
