I (5' 6" tall) hung the mirror in my son's (6' 1" tall) bathroom. He had to stoop to see when he combed his hair. My bet is that gregc72 is tall.

You did a lovely job. Congratulations. I'd stick with the white counter because it gives the room a touch of brightness, and I wouldn't want to add yet another different gray element. In the case of this particular bathroom, gray wouldn't be neutral.
