They arent that picky about water and soil.

Your plant doesn't look bad at all. More Sans are killed by over-watering than almost anything else. Stefan is right -- Sans don't need a ton of light or even good light. I have some growing in extremely bright light and others growing pretty much in shade. They all adapt.

What they NEED is a very well-draining soil -- and that means adding about 50% washed or sifted perlite to your soil, if you are using soil. I have about 20 Sans and most of them are in a mix that is 1/3 each soil, perlite and pumice, sometimes with a handful of chicken grit added. They need well-draining soil, and NOT to be watered unless the soil is dry. Many of us use barbecue skewers. You can just stick on down to the bottom of the bottom, wait a couple minutes and pull it out. If the soil there is wet it will stick to the skewer and the wood will be damp. If the soil there is dry, it will not adhere to the skewer -- and that means water.
