Wow I just love the color and variety of your plants. A lot of my favorites in there.

Lol, I had a couple of words typed out and my cat hit submit.

Patty, I believe we live fairly close to each other, has your weather been as crazy as mine? It will be 48 degrees one day and 90 the next. I’ve never lost a rose before and I probably lost 10 this year. I think the freeze thaw cycle did them in. I had to prune everything to the ground so everything is tiny this year. How is your garden doing?

Totally the same here. The roses had literally just started to grow and then 3 days of 100 degree heat index. First time ever for weather like this and just when they are the most tender. I scrambled to find shade for the most wilted and littlest ones. By the next weekend highs in the 40’s. Many of my roses are only a foot tall. This heat normally kills the blooms on peonies you are fortunate to have gotten. I won’t even mention the spring flowers that had a one day bloom.

Hey, before I forget I had a good 9 or ten that did not come back with the others. I removed 2 after a month. All of my roses are own root and all of the apparently dead ones where new last year. I decided not to remove the rest. You won’t believe this but they are starting to return. You guessed it is in the 100’s again. I was in total shock seeing the tiny shoots coming up. It has been 3 months of nothing. If yours are own root don’t dig them up.

Those are horrid photos and it was so bright I could not see what I was looking at. So perhaps if I had not removed the others, oh well that’s life. Even in the middle photo there is a tiny little red tip coming up.

Ps. My family never wheres out a pair of shoes so I use them for gardening. :-)

Lilyfinch, the clems just became an addiction late last year. I probably have maybe 20 now, but am placing another order with Donahue's tonight. I CAN'T STOP!!

Patty, I'm glad some of them are coming back. I may have removed a couple too early. I did dig up one and saw a tiny green part of a cane so I potted it up and it is coming back. I do have about 4 that are in pots that were overwintered in my unheated garage (which I have done for years and never lost one) that have green canes, but are doing absolutely nothing. They are at a standstill. No leaves, just green canes. They have been like this for months. I gave them alfalfa meal, blood meal, and Mills Magic Rose mix in early Spring and still nothing. Yesterday I gave them some Miracle Grow Tomato liquid fertilizer. I have no idea what to do with them other then give them more time. Ideas anyone?

So many pretty flowers to see! I don't grow roses in pots so I'm not much help on what to do.
