Bathroom update

We were updating a bath that opened off the hall and also, through a closet, into our bedroom. At the last minute, my husband wanted to reconfigure and divide the space to make a bathroom private to our bedroom and have a power room off the hall. NOT smooth sailing. Not something I really wanted, but here we are!

The cabinets went it to the en suite bathroom, and I don't like them at all. The cabinet was already built for the larger bathroom and the cabinet maker said he could make a few modifications and we could still use it. Here are photos of how it looks.

The toilet and vanity are at right angles. I think the edge of the toilet is way too close to the left 1/3 of the vanity (which will now be drawers. He told us we could put 2 sinks in this space, which is about 5 feet by 6 feet. Crazy!).

Anyway, I need help! Latest suggestion is that the whole cabinet be cut back from 21 inches deep to 18 inches with a little bump out in the center to be able to accommodate an undermounted sink. We were told it is hard to find anything but a tiny sink for an 18 inch deep cabinet.

If we reduced to 18 inches deep, there would be 3 more inches between the toilet edge and the vanity drawers.

I figure we'd be at 23.5 inches. I just don't know if 3 more inches will make enough of a difference.
