Front Door Awning

Hi, were nearing the end of a major remodel. Several months ago I said to my GC "I was thinking an awning over the door would be good so people would be able to better identify where the front door is since it's kind of hidden." (Were on a hill and far back from the street) Then I showed two very different pics of awnings I liked mentioning these were just quick ideas. Then I pointed to one of the ideas and said "I really like being able to put house numbers on the awening so people can see from the street what our address is." This lead into a big discussion where he informed me that I need to buy house numbers that light up to pass inspection. The conversation ended by my GC saying "let me think about it."
A couple of months later out of the blue he says "oh we built you an awning. It looks pretty cool." So, being surprised because we did not discuss the cost nor had I approved a design, I went to the house one evening a few days later to look at it and was totally disappointed. I feel like it looks way to small, it doesn't meet the objectives of being able to see it well from the street and it's too small to put house numbers on. I really feel like they should have confirmed a design with me prior to building it and definitely before hanging it in the front of my house with huge bolts. I'm assuming that because we've already received numerous "additionals" bills that this is not a gift. What is a tactful way to bring this up?
The first pic of the gray house is the awning built. (Dont mind the fence you see on the left of the pic, that is temporary) The next two pics are "idea pics" I showed him.
Agree, it's too small & doesn't meet the objectives
It's good enough
