Fashion Boutique in 100 year old building - exterior colors?

Hi there. I just purchased the Sweet Brier Boutique in the beautiful ocean town of Parrsboro Nova Scotia Canada. This 100 year old building needs a paint job. I welcome suggestions!

I would paint the siding a pale gray with medium gray shutters, white window trim and black doors.

Red geraniums must go in the pots, if your climate agrees with them!

Christina, I do love yellow and could see the front doors being yellow with gray siding, etc. as I suggested above.
Yellow doors would look grand with the red geraniums. But if that star means that the business is in Texas, the season for geraniums is very short here. However, we have other flowers that could bloom in those pots in Texas.

Why not place a larger star up in the second floor eve for greater impact.

I would take down the ill fitting shutters on the second floor. Is one door the primary entrance?

Love this buttercup yellow and light gray:

White or glossy black on the doors would look great. How about a sage on the top and white on the bottom with orange doors?

    Red would be a standout:

Thanks! What do you think of historic colors like blue with yellow or red for example?

I would take down the shutters. I would paint the siding yellow and the doors in French blue. I would replace the star with a starfish or sand dollar. Big pink hydrageas in the pots

It would be nice if you could beef up your door trim since it is so narrow, but if this is not an option then I would leave the shutters up because you have very little tirim to work with as it is, and the shutters will at least give you an area where you can add some noticeable contrast between colors. I think a navy for the siding would look quite striking with white trim and white shutters and for the pop of color I think coral for the doors would be a beautiful combination.

look at replacing your shutters with functional shutters and hardware that a sized correctly. Any of the colorrs suggested would look great. Black looks great on everything.

Now, hspidell, can you please tell me if you're opening a new fashion boutique somewhere close to me in Austin, Texas? Or far, far away?
Carolyn- hspidell said the boutique is in Nova Scotia, Canada in her original post;)

Silly me, I missed that from the beginning! Thanks, Margo!

I caught that as I have always said I would like to go there sometime.

Is there room to make safer less steep looking stairs? Or a porch (deck) with stairs the length of the building? Those current stairs look like they would be hazardous when wet with rain or snow.

Just wanted to offer an update since I posted last. I went with Cape Cod solid wood siding in Ocean Blue and added the new steps for safety. This spring we will look at painting the doors and adding some detached window boxes:) Thanks again everyone!
