Plumeria as houseplants--size issues

Years ago I purchased a plumeria cutting, just to try something unusual. I've grown it to about 6 feet tall–one trunk with two branches that have been subdividing into threes. It usually blooms every year and I drag it outside for the summer. But it is getting too wide to fit through the sliding door and keeping it from tipping over is an issue since it has most of its weight on one side of the pot. I'm in zone 6, borderline 7 so this can't be an outdoor plant. So, do most of you just take cuttings and restart the whole process or how do you handle the ultimate size of these as indoor plants for much of the year?
