Yes, they make a great house plant, but are often used as temporary bedding plants.

Treat them just like AVs with the possible exception of a bit more sun, if they'll take it.

I have one I got from cuttings last year from a garden club member. It's doing fine but it won't bloom. Anything I should try? I had it in an east window and then I put it outside so it could get even more light. Doesn't seem to make much difference. Maybe I pinched it off too many times or maybe it's not mature yet? Do they need more fertilizer than AVs?

Generally the same fertilizer, but twice the light. Your hunch is probably right - they bloom on mature stems - so if you have it pinched - it will delay the bloom. Some varieties are more floriferous than others.
