Stuck on Front Landscape Design Help

Please provide input. Nervous about implementing design to take it from this design to suggestions from professional landscape designer.

Potential Design:

1. Move Magnolia Jane up about a foot towards sidewalk.

2. Move boxwoods from wall to surround Magnolia

3. Move daylillies behind boxwoods

4. Split boulders and move one so between Magnolia and sidewalk

Or I can keep boxwoods against wall and fill in with small grasses or flowers. Please and thank you for your suggestions!!!

Just based on that very cursory description (with no plan view to confirm placement), what your landscape designer suggest sounds like a far more attractive layout and arrangement than what currently exists. The shrubs lined up against the wall are particularly awkward looking and ill-advised.

Not sure why you're second-guessing the professional you've hired? If you're not happy with their design, tell them what concerns you have and ask them to come back with an alternate option. We haven't been privy to your original input session with your landscape designer, so have no idea whether his/her suggestions are meeting your needs. Working with a designer of any sort should be a collaborative effort between the two of you. Why spend money on hiring someone if you're going to crowdsource the design?

I like what you've already got there.

I don't see the point of all of the potential moves, ... and I especially don't like the idea of the boxwoods around the tree.

But that's just me ...

Thank you to everyone who provided input. I went with the designer's suggestions and tweaked what didn't fit...it will certainly look better, once the plants grow.

Aegis1000, the designer suggested moving the boxwoods around the Magnolia Jane, so that it was an obvious focal point to the area. To the left corner behind them, I added some bright pink spireas. And to the right, I moved some of the daylilies to provide a colorful backdrop. Thanks again for reaching out on my plan!
