kitchen update with backsplash

I don’t know how to find older discussions but I had posted with questions about a backsplash and thought I would show you what I ended up with. Here is the before and after.

Do you think I need to go all the way up with the backsplash? I was thinking it would kind of hide my range hood.

I will be getting some under mount lighting also. This is a log home which, until now, had no painted surfaces, no tile, no sheet rock. ALL wood. We’ve owned it for about 15 years and finally got brave enough to do some stuff with it. Here’s a few more pics.

Margaret Williams Painting the cabinets white was exactly what we would recommend, great job. I would recommend going all the way up with the tile to accentuate the hood.

Margaret Williams Looks good but I would extend the backsplash to the ceiling and to the entirety of the space below the wall cabinets.

Thanks everyone. I actually thought going all the way up would kind of hide the hood. And I thought going the rest of the way on the wall might be a bit overwhelming with this type of backsplash. Thanks for the input! I will definitely reconsider.
