Leafminer damage?

hard to tell if they are seriously off color from the pix ....

i wonder if planting right next to cement .... perhaps without hardening off to such exposure might be a variable ...

i am sure they remain stressed from transplant .... imo.. fert is not a response to such...

sounds like your watering is OK ... presuming your water meter actually works ??? ... i might take a hand trowel.. and dig a couple 3 to 6 inch holes.. and just verify soil moisture ... i would also let them near dry in between waterings ...

if they are not seriously off color.. it looks to me.. like they are doing pretty good.. all things considered .... its not uncommon.. when you plant multiples.. that one plant simply fails ...

Seems like some of the discoloration could be sun burn, as in they needed to be watered more often - are you sticking the meter inside the root-balls? Rainfall is not adequate for established plants unless at least one inch falls each week. And recently planted stock has to live off the potting- or field soil it came with until there is strong rooting out into the soil on the final planting site. With spring plantings undertaking some rooting out due to production of new roots in coordination with new shoot production. But really serious establishment not happening until stem growth stops in fall, existing roots increase markedly in length (60% of annual total) at this time. So during dry weather plants may have to be watered as often as if they were still in pots, with spring plantings having to be kept on top of all summer.

Or if you clipped them since planting previously shaded interior foliage may have gotten burnt by the change in sun exposure. Or if they came out of a shaded situation when purchased the sudden change to full sun exposure may be producing some damage and discoloration.

Also the general yellowness may indicate a need for fertilization. Otherwise plants can go yellow when they are too wet for extended periods. Box plants must have excellent soil drainage.
