hard to tell on plant that young.. but it sure doesnt seem frosty enough.. lacking all glacousness ... the waxy coating ....

unless you have worn it all off with constant overhead watering ..???

ps: a scale often helps .... anything we might recognize ...

Definitely not Francis. Leaves are too elongated along with Ken's observations.

It doesn’t get too much overhead watering other than rain but here is another picture with a coin.

It’d be nice if it was Satisfaction as that’s on my list!

Keeping the waters muddy. It could be a Frank depending on age and shade, photo and light conditions among other conditions. But then you have many more clues than anyone else would have concerning your hosta. Where did the mystery hosta come from? Is your list hostas you already have? Is Frances Williams on your list? The below photo was taken today. Full shade with only dappled sun.

Another Frank (Francis) with smaller leaves - rather mature but apparently doesn't like the growing conditions given its small size. Gets afternoon sun. Camera highlights the yellowness (without flash). Not quite that yellow to the eye.

First, my list is ones I want.

I’ve not kept track til this year. There was always so much to do that the name didn’t matter, just the plants health. Now that there aren’t so many kids at home and we are in our forever house, I want things organized. Particularly since I don’t want to waste money on a plant I already have.

Gardencool, now I am wondering if “Frank” and Satisfaction are that close in appearance, should I just pass on getting whichever I don’t have....

Not Frank. FrancEs Williams was a woman.

I like Frank. One syllable names better suit me, Babs. Equal opportunity. I can't call it Francy because of my hosta called Francee!

I can't get know Satisfaction, so I don't compare. A hosta nearly identical to Frank is Olive Bailey Langon (now that is a ridiculous hosta name, how about Oli!). About the only difference is the margin doesn't burn on Oli. The Frank I have in the full shade never burns on the margins so maybe it is an Oli!!! And so it goes in the hosta ID business. I know I never bought an Oli but back in my early hosta days I didn't care what the names were and I'd take a hosta from anywhere I could get one.

Oursteelers, in my opinion, FW and Satisfaction don't resemble each other very much at all.

So, don, would you have a guess?

Sorry, not really. Only that it looks a lot more like Satisfaction than FW to me.
