Thanks Sherry..my established BMEs are still not that big..lots of my hostas don't get much light..but even though they're small I love them..my trees look good..neighbors on both sides of us used a cheaper method (soil drench) and when you look from across the street my trees look much better than either of theirs..the more expensive treatment was worth it..

I like the way you surrounded the BMEs with the rocks along the other larger rock border. It looks really nice and gives each mini a real sense of its own.

popmama..I've done this for years temporarily to deter squirrels..I never thought of them as a permanent arrangement hmmm..yesterday when I was working a squirrel came up about a foot away (they know us) carrying a nut!..they love freshly tilled soil..I have to cover loose dirt..

newhostalady..BMEs are one of my favorites!..even in a fuzzy pic don't hawks have an evil look?..our trees look good..years ago we decided to spend the money and I don't regret it..I realize not everyone can do it..I try not to think about what else we could've done with that money..
