Summer transplanting help

As many of you know, all of my plumeria are in the ground for me to dig up in the winter. Well, we decided to move in the next few months, which stinks cause all the plumies are growing so well right now, I was hoping for a nice late summer display. Does anyone have experience digging and potting them up in the hot summer months? I'm wonder if now is the best time because of their vigor they may recover quickly and still bloom late summer. The other option is waiting till the house sales and then dig them up. Either way, my plan is to cut all the leaves off, pot them in a barely moist mix and put them in the garage for a week or two where its nice and hot without the sun and rain while they recover. Then slowly bring them back into the sun. Or should I just leave them in morning sun to recover? What are your thoughts or suggestions?
