I really love the aqua too! The coral would go great with the aqua and it would really liven up the room. Maybe something like this and it would look nice with your light couch and dark furniture.

Your art position is off,can you center it above that chair?

Also maybe try adding some aqua pillows with a fun design like these

or this. I would also suggest picking another wall piece, it doesn't seem to fit quite with the room.

If it were my place, I would want a rug of some kind and some patterns and more variety and warmth in the colors (yellow, orange, green). I would get window coverings that did not have grommets - the grommets feel a little hard in this space - and some tall things to create variation from the strong horizontal break you have going.

The artwork is in the center of the wall but if I was to move the chair under it don't you think it would be too close to the end table?

What if you move end table closer to the chair? Definetly you need patterns.

Move the chair and the table closer to each other. What's the point of the table if the chair can't use it, after all? Lower the picture a bit and if you can, replace the frame with something plainer. Your pillows appear pink on my monitor, so I made them more of a true coral. You could definitely use a rug to define the space and soften the tile floor. Hope this helps.

Re. your windows, a beefier rod, extended more for a double width of panel treatments is one way to go. If they are purely decorative( no privacy or glare issues) you might also remove the treatments and accent the inner casings, instead (assuming an area rug to soften).

Agree about needing some pattern. Otherwise the room looks too "still"

Turquoise and coral are great together. Yellow or lime green also works well with turquoise as do many other shades of blue and green. Waves or chevrons would be nice patterns.Think of our Bahamian beaches and make the walls sunny sand or pale yellow.

Some fiber roman shades, even if stationary, might add what you're looking for. Country Curtains has some that are insulated and cordless.

I find the intense green in the painting unsettling with the aqua in the room, so I've changed out the art.

I would not change the drapes they look good to me.

I like the drapery it looks great however I would recommdnd adding in some blinds for a more complete look.

I like this room. Go to Sears or JCPenney and you will find some curtains for this room.

Place a nice little arrangement in the middle of the table. ( flowers)

Try angling the chair, lining it up with the edge of the door, and pointed toward the coffee table and see if that feels a little more relaxed and comfortable. What bothers me about the "Before" picture is that everything seems so regimented--sort of like good soldiers at attention along the walls. Time for "at ease"!

The art looks fine to me, I like it.

Also angle the other chair on the other side as well.

Oh, and would remove the plastic flowerpot.

I just purchased roman blinds from lowes, Roth and Allen. 11 windows $900. I went with white but the fabric choices were abundant. Keep looking at pillow fabrics and don't be scared to blend colors and patterns with your pillow choice. You will no it when you see it.

Moving the chair toward the table is the correct thing to do. To paraphrase teh great designer Billy Baldwin the furniture needs to speak to eachother. The style has a definite oriental vibe to it so I would chose atleast one pillow that has an oriental feel to it. be sure it has some white in it to match the sofa as it looks lonely. A ginger jar on teh coffee table or a garden stool next to one of the chairs will do the trick as well. Everything is beautiful so far. It just needs some of your own poersonality.

the color blocked look isn't working. patterned pillows using the bright colors mixed with the solids of the sofa and chairs would be better. lose the 2 flower pots. they're too small and pointless. find one satue as a coffee table focal point or stack a few 'coffee table books' with a similar theme and then a related artifact next to it.

sew( or have a pro sew) a 4" vertical band of coral on the inside edge of the drapes. space 2" and then do a turquoise band. this brings a custom touch to the room and unifies the space while distributing color.

the large unframed art (2nd in a group of 4) is by far the best.

Groveraxle - can you wave your magic wand again and paint the walls a soft aqua please.

Perhaps a deeper teal and lighter picture. We certainly are having fun in this room while the owner is gone. ;-)

Ooooh, yes, I do like that. I was worried about going too dark, but in this case it brings the room together beautifully and the room looks like it gets enough light to take it. Pity about the owner, let's just hope he/she is having a busy day - maybe out of town for 4th celebrations.

Hi I haven't posted on this site before, but I love to follow discussions and I have this colour teal all through my house - I thought perhaps something like this dhurrie rug might look nice in your room. Maybe also a muted silver/grey framed mirror rather than artwork. Also, have you considered white plantation shutters for your windows?

Love the colors. Need some additional pillows incorporating the same colors but with pattern, geometrical patterns would work well. You also need a big beefy lamp on the left side, again, something with an interesting pattern. Also, a rug. Karastan has several new collection that have colors that would work and are more affordable. Surya will have a better selection, but the quality won't be as nice. Love the art work. Don't change that. The drapery rod needs to be heavier. The drapes need to have either the teal or other coordinating color (pink or orange). Again, a geometrical would be nice. Maybe the same fabric that is on the sofa.
