Septic Issues - Who Chases?

Hi - if there are issues, when selling a house, with the septic system, whose responsibility is it to chase the people involved?

Here's the situation. My house is under agreement/I've accepted an offer. Turns out that there is an issue with Town Hall about the septic. I'm fully prepared to do anything that needs to be done to satisfy requirements - that's not an issue. The guy at town hall isn't doing a great job of interacting. Is it my responsibility to chase him for info on what needs to be done or is it my realtor's?

If it's me, that's absolutely fine; I don't want to ask my realtor to go outside of "her job". But if it's her responsibility, I don't want to potentially mess things up. I have a call in to her asking the same question but thought I'd also ask here. She has, so far, been making the calls but I'll take over if I should. We're in Massachusetts, buy the way.
