I know this is an older post, but I just wanted to say that since I've done 2 things differently in my garden, I haven't seen any squash bugs. The first thing was I started growing my butternut squash vertically, and the second thing was that I moved my zucchini to an area a ways away from the garden. What kind of squash were you referring to?

Zucchini, and a couple days ago they got my second batch of plants, never had this much of a problem before, the only thing I did different this year was not putting lime on the garden so I won't make that mistake again.

Well, I'm seeing the ebb and flow of things from year to year. Maybe they're just extra bad this year. I know for a number of years we hardly had any japanese beetles, but this year they were absolutely horrible. Like I said, I moved my zucchini out of the garden area to my back hard, and so far, no bugs. (knock on wood). I hope you have better luck with your second batch. Sometimes you miss certain bugs at certain times in the summer. Maybe the squash bugs won't be as bad on your second batch. I hope so!
