Painted or stained cabinetry???

Im all confused. First kitchen and like to look of off white painted cabinets but I understand that they tend to split where the cabinet doors come together. How should I research this? How long do you think Painted off white will be in or should I go stained wood?

A well made cabinet with a painted finish ( using the proper paint) will hold up well. Recently visited a client I did an extensive renovation for, setting up for a photo shoot. The site painted cabinets I did 9 years ago still look like new

For the long haul, stained cabinetry is easier to keep clean (look wise). Painted cabinets will sometimes need to be repainted depending on the quality and finish.

Quality cabinet paint applied in a cabinet shop under controlled conditions is in our opinion as durable as poly finishes. If color appeals to you go for it but choose a quality company with a good reputation. Good luck

Either finish can be durable if done right. I am of the opinion that if the floor is wood, the cabinets should be painted and if the floor is tile, a stain is a better choice.

agree with whats been said about quality of the finishes do not know your lay out but if you have an island do it in stain and the rest of the cabinets painted

We have an option to do an on the job finish.
Everything is pre painted, then we paint the cabinets after they are installed (before installing the doors).. Seals up those cracks! :)
