Looks pretty normal, lots of them grow like that. I see a Kangaroo Paw to the side, are you in WA?

Thanks for the reply. I was concerned that maybe I planted it too high. The ones I see usually have the trunk going straight into the ground without the root ball showing like that. It’s doing great though, scary how fast it’s growing.

I’m in Northern California. I’ve had that Kangaroo Paw a little over 6 years.
