The few results I get from googling are too scientific and inconclusive for me.. anyone have anecdotal evidence of cucurbits passing on mosaic virus through seed?

I lost my whole pumpkin patch to mosaic last year and am using seed from one of those plants this year. The seeds came out of a pumpkin I harvested very early, at least a few weeks in advance of noticing the infection (I threw out all the rest). However, one of the offspring has some deformities (not that characteristic mosaic mottling, but a couple funky shaped leaves and a messed up growing tip). Maybe a fluke, but it's got me nervous about the possibility the infection happened earlier than I thought and that my seeds could be bad. Any thoughts appreciated!
