Sunflowers growing in containers How did they get there?

Hi, I have sunflowers growing in 3 of my outdoor containers which I never planted there. It's in the 5 1 1 mix. Any ideas which animal might have buried sunflower seeds there? I have a bag of bird seed in the garage but I haven't fed the birds in a few years. Only mice could sneak into the garage.

Squirrels are the culprit around here. I have bird feeders with sunflower seeds in them, and the squirrels pick up those that fall to the ground and 'plant them'.

I have seen chipmunks doing it in my yard.

We've jaybirds that will do that. They bring seed from someplace, I don't know how far but beyond a neighbors house.
